Media that Matters (MTM).

American University's Center for Media and Social Impact puts on a yearly conference - Media that Matters. It attracts media makers from every style, all of them looking to use their craft for a good cause. There were filmmakers, comic book artists, game designers, the works. MENA + Social Good.

A couple weeks ago, I had the privilege of photographing MENA+Social Good while in Washington, D.C., and it broadcast live from The Knight Studio in the Newseum. The studio was full of bright personalities with an amazing cause.

MENA+Social Good is a virtual interactive summit that engages its global audience on advancing social good in the Arab world. Guests were brought in virtually from across the globe and the @MENASocialGood Twitter feed was a never-ending hub of activity. MENA+Social Good is a program of Al-Mubadarah: Arab Empowerment Initiative.

Max Meadows: Part II.

This past weekend, I went with Ashley to one of her barrel races. She took along her two-year-old horse, Dash. He and Lexus got quite attached to each other, but he did alright for going to a show for the first time. We also found his tickle spot. Most horses have a tickle spot, commonly below their neck, but Dash has one on his rump; a less common area. And he throws a fit when you scratch it.

This show was smaller than previous ones because there was only one association at the show. All in all, there were about 50 riders. Ashley placed 2nd in the 3rd Division. Right now, she stands 3rd in the 3rd Division overall for the season. If she keeps this up, she might make it to World's in October. Let's hope she does.

Bachelorette.

This past weekend, my beautiful friend Kristal got married! I'm so happy for her, and I'm glad I was able to be a part of the festivities. For her bachelorette party, she and her bridesmaids went on a photo shoot with me around the DC monuments. A big storm was supposed to be coming in that night, but instead, the sky was beautiful, and we all had a blast.
